Internationally networked cashless payment
Whether it’s at a beach bar on the Indian Ocean or a golf shop in Morocco, guests are able to make convenient cashless payments at Robinson Club facilities.
The only thing missing was a modern cash register system which supports payments with the new club cards. The solution had to be flexible enough to adapt to ROBINSON’s internal requirements and work across national borders.
Commissioning of a multi-property version of protel’s Hotelsoftware represented the start of a new chapter for ROBINSON. What was needed next was an efficient cash register system. The choice was made for the Matrix POS. An international team of specialists defined the club’s own standards in advance, standards which are actively supported by the specialists at 42 GmbH. Following a deep analysis, the IT experts custom tailored the applications of the cash register system to suit the needs of the club organizer.
Individualized across national borders
Since then, eight ROBINSON Clubs in Spain, Morocco, Italy, Portugal, Egypt and the Maldives have been outfitted with around 80 cash register terminals in total, as well as scanners, printers and hand-held units. 42’s IT specialists handle installation and configuration directly on site. The greatest challenge was in regional flexibility. The system has to take individual circumstances into account in each case, such as different value added tax rates and typical foods and items for sale in the respective country. Using the KOST materials management system linked with the cash registers, the required characteristics were determined and all displays were programmed accordingly.
Thanks to its link to protel and KOST, Robinson gets even more management options. This means that all guest data is available in the cash register all the time. Among other things, the system is also able to determine which items have been sold, and in which quantities, at the push of a button. Sales assessments like this help the respective outlet to operate successfully.
ROBINSON GmbH promises its guests “time for good feelings” when visiting any of the 24 club facilities (and one city hall) around the world.
